Welcome to Baptist Academy Alumni Association of North America

Welcome to the official website of Baptist Academy Alumni Association of North America, Atlanta, Georgia. The Association was founded in 2009 to re-unite alumni and friends of Lagos Baptist Academy, uphold the legacy of its founding fathers, uplift our alumni and alma mater, Plan reunions, find old friends, get the latest information, contact alumni, provide forums/message boards, event updates and more here. We hope you will find your visit memorable and insightful enough to spur your involvement in our efforts to empower our alma mater and North American alumni.
Baptist Academy was founded in 1855 by a Baptist Missionary, J.M Harden, who started a school shortly after his arrival in Nigeria on a piece of land situated at 24 and 24A Broad Street Lagos. This land was purchased from King Dosumu of Lagos to house the duo of First Baptist Church, Broad Street Lagos and Baptist Academy, Lagos. Baptist Academy, whose motto is Deo Duce (God Our Leader) is an evidence of life and growth from little beginning. On February 9, 1957, the school moved from 24/24A Broad Street Lagos to Mile 7, Ikorodu Road, Yaba, its present location. The founding fathers of Baptist Academy sought to build a school that guides her students in paths of coordinated studies, that influences right thought for acceptable and honorable conduct, teaches her students their own rights and the rights of others, and makes her students have respect for law and order, both of government and of God.
